Shop Local at Jacksonville Farmers’ Markets
We know it’s easy to shop at your favorite chain stores during vacation, but we encourage you to break outside the norm and shop local during your next visit to Florida. Shopping at local markets is an excellent way to find fresh produce, meet the locals, browse for souvenirs, and support the communities you visit. The Jacksonville Area is abundant with farmers’ and flea markets where you can find one-of-a-kind treasures around every corner. Whether you want to shop at the historic Jacksonville Farmers’ Market or find the perfect handmade craft at the Riverside Arts Market, there is something for everyone to discover!
Choose Overmoon to host your family vacation in Jacksonville Beach and stay in a home designed specifically with families in mind. Discover all the things to do in Jacksonville Beach with kids and spend an afternoon together at one of these local markets:
The Jacksonville Farmers’ Market is North Florida’s largest and oldest farmers’ market. Browse over 100 farmers and vendors selling assorted fruits, vegetables, seafood, and cheeses. You can also browse an impressive selection of ethnic and imported specialty items like the famous Mayport Shrimp. Spend an afternoon exploring the market together and then stop for lunch at Blume’s Grill across the street.
The Riverside Arts Markets occurs every Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, rain or shine. This market features small businesses, artists, makers, and farmers selling their items. There is something for everyone, from handmade jewelry to hand-blown glass art and local authors promoting their newest release. Head to RAM’s River Stage for live music and dancing every Saturday!
The Beaches Green Market is held at Jarboe Park in Neptune Beach every Saturday from 2 to 5 pm. This is a smaller-scale market featuring farmers selling local produce, meat, eggs, fish, and native plants.
The Beach Boulevard Flea Market offers over 200,00 square feet of outdoor shopping year-round. The vendors sell clothing, accessories, jewelry, home decor, toys, games, and food items. After you have explored the shops, we recommend stopping for lunch at the International Food Court, featuring delicious dishes from every corner of the world.
The Pecan Park Flea Market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. There are over 750 storefronts to explore, selling anything from leather goods to jewelry. In addition to shopping, there are fun market attractions and events for the kids, like recurring reptile shows.
